Black and Tan

A "Black and Tan" is so much more than a delightful mix of Guinness and Harp (or another stout and pale ale). The phrase originally comes from early 20th century Ireland where the Irish used (and still use) it to refer to the brutal British paramilitary group used to put down Irish revolutionary fighters.

  1. Huh. Interesting.

Did you know that dog breeds with a coat that has both black and tan--like dobermans, rottweilers, etc--are also called Black and Tans? E.g.
